On top of language classes 5 days a week, we can also choose to do up to 3 elective classes. The list of elective classes varies a little every semester. This semester's list is as follows:

The available electives for Sem 1, 2014.

I'm thinking of doing Chinese Calligraphy (hopefully Advanced?), Chinese Painting, and maybe TaiChi or Martial Arts. They only give you 2 days to choose which classes you want to do.

Chinese Cuisine is apparently also a very popular class. It is held in another campus, and they only have 3 people per class. I think I might choose that next semester.

I'm going to leave this post with a few daily life snaps. I've been sick (flu, coughing) since Saturday, so I've been electing to coop up in my room instead of going out. But yesterday (Tuesday) was a really good day - Sunny and 18 degrees, so I had to go out and soak up some Vitamin D and go for a ride around Xihu. I ended up conking out at 9:00pm though.

(Monday night) Dinner for 10 people.. everything had chilli in it!

The owners shouted us free beer (because the food wasn't cheap). The manager-lady walked up to my Aussie friend and challenged him to a drink. She emptied a 500ml bottle into this pan/bowl and they vs'd each other to see who could finish it first. They ended up tying!

This is what breakfast at the uni restaurant looks like. There is a choice of noodles, wontons (handmade) or 3 pork buns, all for only 2RMB! It's open 6:30-8:30am.

(Tuesday Night) Dinner at Vineyard, a pub run by an Australian guy. The pizza was pretty good, but pretty expensive (55RMB+ I think)

Sitting in front of the International College to do work.

Loving all my Zheda stationery.. I'm seriously a fangirl

Another interesting sight only in China - this was seen in front of the local dorms on campus. People are hanging their laundry next to fish and meat hanging to dry!

Just one of the amazing views of Xihu during our bike ride.

Alright I am finally up to date! Been blogging from the cafe, with my Honey Lemon Tea. It's made from Honey-Lemon Marmalade, and it's delicious. I have a jar of it in my dorm but for some reason I can't make it as tasty!
